Manipur : Student Bodies call for 48 hours state bandh from midnight today      By M.Devanand Sharma Imphal (Manipur ) , Sept 26 : A banner organization of students’ bodies in Manipur has called for statewide bandh from the midnight today in protest against the ‘atrocities’ committed by Manipur Police on the students of Manipur University where stalemate has returned three days back. "High Court directs state government not to ban internet service in the state" IMPHAL | Sept 25 : The High Court of Manipur has directed the state government to ensure that the broadband ‘Wifi’ of BSNL and other private service providers be made seamlessly available to the subscribers. RCIED means Remote Controlled Improvised Explosive Device In a possibly related  incident a loud blast sound was heard from across the border by villagers along the indo Myanmar border in the Kamjong dist yesterday night at around 9 .30 PM. The huge blast seemed to have taken place in a village called aungjiya across BP 97. 2. As per reports being received from across the border,  the blast took place in a PLA Camp. Locals have said that some cadres of PLA were preparing a huge IED to cause maximum damage and unprecedented mayhem inside Manipur in the run-up to their raising day. As per the villagers from nearby houses there was a huge explosion in the house where the PLA cadres were staying at around 9pm on Tuesday. It is being suspected that the IED which these cadres were preparing to kill a large number of innocents,  accidentally exploded,  killing at least three of the PLA men on the spot and seriously injured two others who are battling for their life in a nearby hospital.

*Man takes minor daughter outside home and rapes her* September 18, 2018 NOIDA, September 18, 2018: A man was arrested Monday for allegedly raping his 13-year-old daughter in Dadri area of Gautam Buddh Nagar, police said. The 40-year-old accused was arrested following a complaint by his wife at the Dadri police station on Sunday. According to police, the couple had a troubled marriage and both of them often fought with each other over domestic issues. “On the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday, the man took his daughter outside home while the mother was asleep. After reaching some distance, he raped her at an isolated spot,” a police official said. The man has been charged under Indian Penal Code section 376 for rape and under the provisions of the Prevention of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, he said. He has been remanded in judicial custody while the girl has been sent for medical examination, the official said. (PTI)

*3 Persons from Bangladesh Held for Violation of Indian Passport Act* Three Bangladeshi nationals were detained by police at Lala in Hailakandi district, Assam on Sunday for flagrant violation of the Indian Passport Act, 1967. Refuting reports in a section of the media that the Bangladeshi nationals were detained by the police for entering illegally into India, Superintendent of Police, Mohneesh Mishra said they all had valid passports with tourist visa but violated the Passport Act by carrying out trade and business activities. “The Bangladeshi nationals came on a tourist visa but committed offence under the Passport Act by indulging in business activities which they cannot do so, for they did not possess business visa,” said Mishra. The Bangladeshi citizens nabbed are Mohammed Hafiz Molla, Ayar Ali and Mohammed Bablu Molla from Bhulbari village of Gopalganj district. - The Shillong Times
