Organic Farming Tour to Sikkim for Kana Valley farmers

Sajik Tampak Battalion of 28 Sector Assam Rifles is organizing a ten day Organic Farming Tour to Sikkim for the benefit of Kana Valley Farmers. The tour has been designed and planned to have a balance mix of entertainment and gain firsthand experience on organic farming for 20 farmers.

Flagged off by Major General K P Singh, YSM, IGAR (South), the team proceeded for a detailed educative tour on organic farming to include lectures by experts and visit to farms, and meeting renowned civil and military dignitaries.

The close association between the Kana Valley and Sajik battalion is evident from the fact that immediately after the recent stand off on Assam Rifles, the village Chiefs, Pastors and other elders of the village community expressed strong condemnation of the act and prayed for the safety of the unit in future as well. They urged the people of Kana valley to understand the ulterior motives of the insurgent who want this area to remain backward by stalling the development projects and by senseless violence.
