*Arunachal Pradesh: 4 ENGG militants, one over-ground worker held in Miao* *ITANAGAR, April 19, 2018:* Four ENGG operatives along with an over-ground worker were apprehended by the Security forces in a major operation in Miao town in Changlang district on Tuesday. Acting on intelligence input, the Jairampur battalion of the Assam Rifles under the Dao division arrested four ENGG operatives and an over-ground worker including self-styled major Thaimong Mossang and Awang Hodung. On being challenged by the security forces, the militants tried to flee but were chased and overpowered. The militants were trying to terrorize and carry out recruitment activities in Miao. *AIZAWL, April 18, 2018:* All the 114 militants of a Hmar militant outfit, who had laid down arms on April 13, have received rupees three lakh each as part of the rehabilitation package, a senior Home department official said. The surrender of the Hmar People’s Convention (Democratic) leaders and cadres followed the signing of the memorandum of settlement by the Mizoram government and the outfit in Aizawl on April 2. The surrendered militants have returned to their respective villages, the official said. The Hmar rebels had laid down 45 weapons, including four sniper rifles, one grenade launcher, nine AK assault rifles, one M-16 carbine assault rifle and 13 double-barrel guns. They had also surrendered 2,892 rounds of ammunition, launcher shells and five radio sets on April 13. The surrendered weapons were handed over to state Home Minister R. Recently, there have been cases where foreigners have been able to get such important documents from northeastern states, sources said. Three passengers Dimkhawlnuam, Donlunching, both girls, and Sianmuankham who are from Myanmar, were held by the paramilitary force on Saturday during a check-in at the airport. INSPECTOR GENERAL ASSAM RIFLES (SOUTH) PRESS RELEASE: 18 APR 2018 ASSAM RIFLES CONDUCTS MEDICAL CAMP 11 Assam Rifles of 26 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) conducted a Medical camp on 16 April 2018 at border village Maojang, Moreh Sub Division, Tengnoupal District for the local populace. The medical team provided medical checkup and medicines to the villages residing in Maojang and nearby villages. A total of 19 inhabitants including 05 men, 11 women and 03 children were benefited from this noble initiative of 11 Assam Rifles.  The medical team carried out medical checkup of the villagers and distributed necessary medicines to the people. The Bailey bridge at Motbung built across the Imphal River along the Pukhao - Kanglatombi Road is an important bridge for the local populace, however, it was washed away during the 2015 flood. Since the bridge acts as an important connectivity means for the local villages, the people has constructed a footbridge nearby the bailey bridge for the people of the either side of the river to commute.
