ASSAM RIFLES CONDUCTS MEDICAL CAMP
11 Assam Rifles of 26 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR
(South) conducted a Medical camp on 16 April 2018 at border village Maojang,
Moreh Sub Division, Tengnoupal District for the local populace. The medical team
provided medical checkup and medicines to the villages residing in Maojang and
nearby villages. A total of 19 inhabitants including 05 men, 11 women and 03
children were benefited from this noble initiative of 11 Assam Rifles.
 The medical team carried out medical checkup of the villagers and distributed
necessary medicines to the people. Apart from providing medical assistance, basic
health education including precautions against common diseases like Malaria,
Dengue and etc was imparted and the importance of hygiene and sanitation was
explained to the villagers.
ASSAM RIFLES SAVES SNAKE BITE VICTIM
5 JAK RIF of 9 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South)
saved the life of one snake bite victim on 16 April 2018. The victim named M
Memcha Devi, aged 68 years, resident of Hiyangthang village, Imphal West District
was bitten by a snake and was immediately rushed to the unit hospital. The victim
was readily attended by the medical team under the Regimental Medical Officer and
necessary first aid was administered to save her life. This timely action of 5 JAK RIF
medical team not only saved precious human life but also reinforced good faith
among the locals.
ASSAM RIFLES CONDUCTS SECURITY MEET
A “Security Meet” was conducted by 15 Assam Rifles of 9 Sector Assam Rifles
under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) at Chingmeirong Company Operating Base. The
forum was attended by all prominent personalities, President and Secretary of youth
clubs, Meera Paibis, Ward Member of village and locals of the area. A total 39
persons attended the meeting. The aim of the meeting was to discuss all the security
aspects and necessary measures to be undertaken by the locals. During the meet,
the Company Commander urged the villagers to remain alert, vigilant and inform any
suspicious move of persons to the Assam Rifles. The Assam Rifles Battalion
provided this platform to the locals to discuss the security perspective in the area and
to allow them to come up with suggestions to improve synergy between Security
Forces and the local populace. In the end the attendees appreciated the efforts of
Assam Rifles in ensuring peace and assured their commitment and assistan
