Tribal Martyrs’ Park unveiled on the occasion of Tribal Unity Day observance

CCPUR: Under the initiative of the Joint Action Committee Against Anti- Tribal Bills(JAC-AATB), Tribal Unity Day was observed on Friday by unveiling the Tribal Martyrs Memorial at the Tribal Martyrs Park, Mata Dam.
Today's ceremony was about the memorial section of the park comprising of unveiling and dedication of the tombstones of the eight (8) of the nine(9) Tribal Martyrs and the sculpture which is dedicated to the Nine Martyrs.
President Zo Re-Unification Organisation (ZRO), General Headquarters R. Sangkawia unveiled the memorial which was followed by Traditional Gun Salute and Floral Tributes by Martyrs families, special invitees, tribe leaders, host organisation and JAC-AATB which was led by Rayburn college NCC Cadets.
Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Kholi, Parish Priest, Good Shepherd Parish dedicated the memorials to the Almighty.
Left pavement, Right pavement and middle pavement of the entrance way to the park as well as the left pond and the right pond were inaugurated .
At the right corner of the park was the MoU Memorial which is inaugurated by H. Mangchinkhup, Chief Convenor JAC-AATB.
President Zo Re-Unification Organisation GHQs graced this solemn ceremony by not only unveiling the Tribal Martyrs Memorials but also with a great exhortation speech.
A melodious Choir sung by the Joint Choir from five churches/denominations touch the hearts of the gatherers. Various tribe and church leaders and people from across the region also grace the ceremony.
Although the park construction is far from completion the memorial section comprising of the tombstones, sculptures, pavements and ponds were unveiled and inaugurated on the solemn ceremony.
